Sam I am

Sam I am...

Green Eggs and Ham; In my opinion one of the great stories of persistence, belief in oneself, and refusal to give-up despite the odds stacked against the main character; Sam.
Contrast the lesson in this simple children's story with the headlines in the mainstream media of late. The stories about the various "Days of rage" and "Occupy Wall street" protests, and the apathy that has over taken  too many.

When did it become a God Given Right to have success, wealth, and a six figure income? A new car every 2 years, and a home that will appreciate at over a 20% rate on an annualized basis? When did America turn the corner of a country of optimism and hope, and most importantly Belief in oneself, to a country where nearly 50% of the population are dependent upon the government in one way or another? When did it become the American way to demonize those that have achieved success? Those that are willing through hard work, innovation and personal risk taking to create something better for themselves and their families, and as a result create most of the new jobs, innovation and wealth in America?

While I appreciate and defend the rights of those that protest, I have to wonder where and why so many individuals of our great country strayed from the path that has made America the strongest and most prosperous nation on the Earth?

The keys to success, and the very foundation that has built this country have been education, innovation, risk taking and then hard work, Pride in your accomplishments, and then even more hard work applied Daily. Persistence, belief in yourself, in your good ideas are only a small part of the recipe of success. However diligently applied, those ingredients alone do not guarantee success. When confronted with rejection, Sam did not give up and walk away. He tried new innovative ways to convince his unnamed prospective client that if he were only to try the green eggs and ham, he would enjoy them.

I too have traveled the road traveled by so many in this country: a good education, good job, and due in no small part to my own innovation, risk taking, and hard work, was able to enjoy financial reward and success. However while I was able to enjoy the rewards; like so many people in America today, I see and feel the headwinds we all confront, I too have been greatly affected...

Is it the governments fault? Wall street? The politicians? The wealthy? NO it is not; there is nothing more real than reality, and we all must deal with the same adverse factors that confront the country on a daily basis.
Be like Sam, Educate, Innovate, take some risks, but most importantly Work your asses off to achieve your personal American dream, no matter what that dream is.

Never give up. I didn't and Never will...

...and guess what, I have created a new opportunity for myself, my family and loved ones, and those stakeholders who believe in my vision and dream and are willing like ME to take the risk to see it through to its eventual success. You see even if this idea doesn't work out the way we all believe it will, I know that the next one will; NO DOUBT in my mind.

Never give up, Sam and I didn't and NEVER will
